Wow that was awful!

Just completed day #2 of working out. Intervals- they suck, but I did it and am now recovering and think I will be fine. :)

Time: 24:36
Distance: 2.55 miles
Calories burned: 341
Intervals: 2 minutes at average speed- 30 seconds as fast as I could go for the duration of the workout.

Geoff created/read and adopted a workout for me- 3 days a week-

Day 1: Distance- 4 miles on the eliptical
Day 2: Speed- Intervals on the eliptical
Day 3: Tempo- Tempo- 20 mins of outdoor running trying to maintain an average speed

Week 2: repeat

Week 3: try to increase distance, speed and tempo

etc....

Redo

I am excited to say that I finally started my 5K training today. I decided that I would take a redo on last week. It was a crazy but fun week and weekend. It started out being snowed in. We got to spend two extra days with Geoff since he wasn't able to make it to work. Then on Wednesday Geoff dropped us off at my friend Jen's house so we wouldn't have to stay at home alone while he was working the rest of the week because there was no way he would make it back home because of the ice. We stayed there until Friday when we left for Baxley for a weekend of fun with the family. Geoff's parents and brother live there and his sister and her family came down too. It was fun but we didn't make it back until late Monday night. So here it is Tuesday almost a week and a half from when I made my resolutions and I am just getting started. The way I look at it is that if it is truly a life style change then life happens and you aren't always able to do everything you want.  :)

Anyway, today I did 4 miles in 38:43 on the Eliptical! Yay! I feel good!

Here goes nothing!

This year I am getting a little bit of a late start. Only about a week but I have big plans for this year.  Here are my "New Years Resolutions" except I am not crazy about calling them that. I feel like that just means they are short term. So I will call them- "life changes".

1. Start and Keep up a blog- In this blog I will talk about our daily lives, I will keep track of workouts and home projects, funny things my sweet 2 year old Ellie does and all the new things she learns. All our travels and fun things we do with family and friends. Our life as an Army family and all that means and you may even get a few of my opinions on various things that come along.

2. Run a 5K and a 10K- I am starting Monday on Training for a 5k at the end of February- I will admit that I hate to work out and that I will not work out unless I am working toward something such as a 5K. Honestly it is the fear of making a fool out of myself in front of all those people that keeps me motivated. HAHA I know crazy isn't it.  My sweet husband is making me a training schedule. He is very athletic and works out all the time. He is great at building workout schedules, I am excited to see what he has in store for me.

3. I got this idea from a friends blog- 21 days to get organized Challenge- I will be following her blog and attempting to organize my house as well. I will be honest with you and myself it will probably take more than 21 days. :) I plan to get started next week. Here is the link-

4. Continue to paint and photograph and maybe grow my collection enough to sell them- this one is just a goal for the year. I haven't worked out the details yet.

5. Get up before Ellie and have a quiet time in the mornings; spending sometime in the word of God.

Here are my goals for the year. Of course I want to continue to teach my baby as many things as possible and spend as much time as possible with friends and family.

I hope I can keep this up and make these "life changes". Hopefully this blog will help me keep track of all our daily activities and if I am reaching my goals.
